Mammoths, Dinosaurs, & a 48 foot ice sculpture!

At the end of October Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment celebrated the Blu-ray and DVD release of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in a big, big way.  A 48-foot-8-inch way!!!

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment teamed up with innovative ice company Ice Bulb to create this monsterous ice sculpture of Scrat to not only celebrate the dvd release but to also earn the title of Tallest Ice Sculpture in the Guinness Book of World Records, beating the old record by nearly 8 feet!  And, if you’re not completely in awe by this accomplishment, remember…it was 80+ degrees in Santa Monica that week!!!

The sculpture, made from over 133,000 pounds of ice, was unveiled at ICE (downtown Santa Monica’s outdoor ice skating rink) after 14 skilled sculptors from Ice Bulb worked four straight days on the Scrat look-a-like.

The HUGE record-breaking Scrat sculpture was a fitting celebration for the huge success of the dvd release!  Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is currently available on Blu-ray and dvd at local retailers in three amazing packages:
